About us
Salt Church is most concerned about fulfilling our vision to equip people to walk in their ministry. In realizing this vision we have put into place a number of different teams to oversee the various ministries. We have an outreach team, Children's ministry team, Fiscal Team, Deacons and Elders. These teams oversee different aspects of our church.

Our Beliefs
Baptism in the Holy Spirit
Jesus is the One who baptizes believers in the Holy Spirit. The Bible testifies that Jesus baptizes us with the Holy Spirit and with fire, (Matthew 3:11). There are instances in the bible in which believers have a second experience, or a filling of the Holy Spirit, (Acts 19:1-6, 1:8, 2:4, 4:31). We believe that one receives the Holy Spirit upon salvation, or accepting the gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus, and then there is another experience in which one is filled or baptized in the Holy Spirit.
Speaking in Tongues
One of the evidences of being filled with the Holy Spirit is speaking in tongues. 1 Corinthians 12 and 14 give us instructions on how to operate in this gift. Tongues are not part of our normal language today. Speaking in tongues is either a heavenly language or an earthly language that the person speaking did not learn. 1 Corinthians 14:12 words it this way, “For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to mean but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.
There are different types or various kinds of tongues. One kind of tongue, that is spoken publicly or in a church setting requires an interpretation. This type is a sign and testifies that God is speaking.
Another kind or type of speaking in tongues is one that is meant as a personal prayer language. The purpose of a personal prayer language is to edify the individual and does not require an interpretation, nor is it meant to be public for all to hear.
Prophesy
Prophesy is another gift of the Holy Spirit and according to 1 Corinthians 14 it is a greater gift than speaking in tongues because it is designed to edify the entire church. Prophesy is a Word from the Lord, in our native language, in which God speaks through man for the purpose of edification and exhortation, and comfort, (1 Cor. 14:3)
Church
The overriding scripture summarizing our church experience is 1 Corinthians 14:40 which states that all things are to be done decently and in order. We are human and therefore we make mistakes, however, God has placed order in the church so that we can be free as well as not become a stumbling block for others. So, we ask that you connect with Christ Jesus and worship as freely as you can while maintaining the awareness that we are worshipping together. So, raise your hands as an act of surrender to Jesus, sing out as loudly as you like in worship, pray both in your personal prayer language and in your own language, and mostly connect with God and receive the joy that He liberally gives.
If you have a word of prophecy, please see one of the pastors or deacons before operating in this gift. And be willing to submit to the leadership the Lord has placed in this church. There will be times when the leadership will not grant permission. When this happens, be joyful as it is an opportunity to submit and grow in the kingdom.
SALVATION
For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominion or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist, (Col. 1:16-17). Until one accepts the very reason for being created, to serve Christ Jesus, true joy and contentment and destiny cannot be held. We were created for such a time as this to serve our Lord and to be His church.
You must be born again
Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3). According to Romans 3:23, every single one of us has fallen short of the standard, we have all sinned. And a few chapters later, Romans 6:23, it is recorded that the wages of that sin is death. But the gospel, or the good news, is that Jesus died on our behalf, He took our wages and has offered to give us His wages, eternal life. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him, (2 Cor. 5:21). What that means is that Jesus paid our penalty. The word “might” in that verse puts it within our will. We can choose to accept the free gift from our Saviour, or we can choose to reject this gift of salvation. The term, being born again, simply means that we accept this free gift from Jesus.
Confess Jesus as Lord
For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation, (Romans 10:10). If you believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and confess with your mouth, then you are born again. If you have not done this, then let us know so we can help you in this process.
Disciples
A disciple is a follower of Jesus. If you are born again then you must become a disciple. Jesus said that we must deny ourselves, take up our cross daily, and follow Him, (Luke 9:23). This may seem hard or impossible and usually our own desire is to do our own thing. But the Bible is also clear in this matter. Jesus said it best, “He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.” (Matthew 10:39). True joy and contentment comes in serving the One you were designed to serve.
Fellowship
We recognize the need for each other. The Bible talks about encouraging one another every day. The scriptures also warn against not coming together as a body of believers. We encourage you to get involved in the fellowship of the church. There are always activities that one may participate in; such as, life groups, Bible studies, men’s and women’s fellowships, children’s ministries, youth group, and so forth. One of the best ways to get plugged in is to volunteer to serve in a ministry that suits you. We would love to have you serve Jesus by serving His people.
